All Archivist Studio garments are made from 100% upcycled materials. They started with with 200 kilos of Egyptian cotton from a luxurious London based hotel and are now onboarding many more hotels in Europe to make their waste management circular. Their partner hotels gather their textiles and ship them to the Archivist studio. After a quality check and a professional cleaning, the textiles are being cut and sewn to beautiful staple pieces

Our off-white Lina peasant blouse is cut from the linen of a London, Mayfair-based, luxury hotel. The off-white fabric has a subtle jacquard stripe and has a soft and crisp feel. The Lina blouse can be worn casually off-shoulder or tied together for a more office apt look.
The blouse is adjustable to any fit between XS and XL.

Linen is a strong, lightweight fabric made from the flax plant. It is one of the most historical fibers, and has been used as a clothing textile since 8000BC. 

Linen is a sustainable fabric because of its low requirements of water, resources, and energy to create. There is also little to no pesticides used on linen farms. 

Linen is notorious for durability and versatility. Linen can withstand high temperatures—making the fabric generally perfect for raiding the jungle or lounging on a tropical island. It absorbs moisture without holding bacteria. In fact, it is actually stronger when wet than dry and becomes softer and more pliable the more it is washed. It just gets better and better the longer you have it in your closet! 

Linen is a bio-based material, making it biodegradable, fully composting after it has retired from use.

Linen is one of the most historical fibers, known for its durability and versatility. Made from flax plant fibres, it is a sustainable fabric due to the low requirements of resources like water and little to no pesticides compared to cotton.

Upcycling, also known as creative reuse, is the process of transforming by-products, waste materials, useless, or unwanted products into new materials or products of better quality and environmental value. 

Upcycling artists are inspired by the textile waste they see, which is almost an unlimited resource at this point. They create with the intention to use what is already here. This process is important in the circular fashion movement, because it makes use of discarded textiles, giving these materials second lives. 

Because discarded textiles are not typically sheets of fabric, but rather articles of discarded clothing, a lot of creativity is required to transform materials into new fashionable pieces. This challenge is exciting for upcycling artists, as they are driven and inspired to create with what is in front of them and often don’t have much to lose in the process, since discarded materials are readily available and cheap. Because of this, upcycled clothing is often unique as each piece has been thoughtfully crafted into a new garment.

This product is made by creatively upcycling materials that would otherwise go to waste. This makes better use of resources like deadstock fabrics: leftovers from big production that are saved by re-using them.
